YAY. Today it’s time for my Harry Potter World haul and I couldn’t be more excited to share my purchases with you because oh my goodness, I bought so much! Like I swear most of my dollars went on Harry Potter merchandise and I totally could have bought more had I taken more spending money… I know for next time…
One of my first purchases at Harry Potter World was one of my more expensive purchases, my interactive wand. Before I went to Universal I was adamant I was going to buy Luna’s wand but in the end I opted for Dumbledore’s wand. I also picked up a wand stand to go with this so it looks nicely displayed in my bedroom.
Before even visiting Harry Potter World I picked up a Hufflepuff Quidditch tshirt from one of the Universal gift shops because I had to have something HP to wear whilst there. I couldn’t enter Diagon Alley for the first time in normal muggle attire could I? I’m actually a Gryffindor, but I prefer Hufflepuffs colours.
To add to my Harry Potter clothing collection (which started with the Hufflepuff top), I had to buy this cosy Hogwarts jumper which is a cute and casual design feauturing the schools emblem on the front. I also picked up some over the knee Gryffindor socks which I’m going to wear when I go to the Harry Potter Studios tour next month!
Something I spent a lot of money on in Harry Potter World was confectionary as I knew before I went I would be buying at least a couple of chocolate frogs. In the end I bought three and I’ve yet to eat any of them yet. I have opened one just to admire and I was so excited to see they even have the wizard cards in them! In my first chocolate frog I received a Godric Gryffindor card and I can’t wait to see what I’ve got in the other two.
Along with my chocolate frogs I bought a box of Bertie Botts every flavour beans which I opened at pumpkin carving night because I thought they were kind of Halloweeny. I only ate one because I couldn’t face the flavours but my dad was munching away as if they were the nicest sweets he’d ever had. I don’t think he realised some of them were supposed to be gross!
Other sweets I bought included a box of fudge flies which were disgusting, a chocolate wand which I’ve yet to eat and a jar of U-No-Poo’s which look like they’re going to be very similar to smarties. I had to buy the U-No-Poo’s because I was reading the Half Blood Prince at the time of my holiday which mentions Fred and George’s shop and the U-No-Poo’s!
Finally in confectionary I treated myself to a cute little bag of Gringotts chocolate coins. I’ve yet to eat these because I think they’re too sweet not to treasure and I’m saving them for a more special occasion! Even the little bag they come in is lovely.
Anyone who knows me will know I love a postcard so you can imagine my delight when I saw they had a set of Harry Potter World postcards on sale featuring 10 amazing photos I’ll be placing on my wall. Every time I look at them, I’ll feel so happy.
I also bought a London to Hogwarts train ticket which I’ll be putting on my wall along with my postcards however I really feel this will look better in a frame, so I’m going to buy a simple black photo frame to display it in.
Lastly I decided to pick up a couple of keyrings so every time I whip my keys out the world can know that this girl loves Harry Potter. I bought a chocolate frog keyring which was actually chocolate scented (although the scents long gone now) and a keyring of the Hogwarts Emblem. Every time I use my keys I see these keyrings and feel so happy!
I love love love all of my purchases from Harry Potter World, I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of Harry Potter merchandise and I’m already so excited to go to the Harry Potter Studios tour to buy more. Yassss!
