A Day In London | Madame Tussauds & Exploring Camden

Hey huns, I hope everyone is well today!

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of taking a day trip to London with my parents as for my Dads Christmas present last year, I bought the family tickets to Madame Tussauds. My sister was supposed to come with us too, but unfortunately she was poorly which was such a shame but on the brightside, it means we have an excuse to go again so she can join us.

My parents and I started our day late morning and got the train to London at around 10:30. We didn’t arrive in London until about 12pm as the train was quite slow, stopping at every station on the way. As soon as we arrived in London we headed straight to Baker Street where Madame Tussauds is located and thankfully since we had pre booked our tickets, we only had to wait in the tiniest queue before being allowed in. I have to say, I would definitely advise booking your tickets in advance if you’re planning a trip to Madame Tussauds because the queue for on the day tickets was crazy long.

Once inside it was unbelievably busy. Out of all the Madame Tussauds that I’ve been to (Amsterdam, Blackpool), London is by far the busiest. It was so rammed in the first room that I really struggled to get close to the waxworks and have my picture taken. You’d literally just have to push your way through to be able to get your photo taken. In the first room (the ‘party’ room), I had my photo taken with Kim Kardashian and Emma Watson.

Once we had seen all the ‘party’ room had to offer, we explored the rest of Tussauds which luckily wasn’t so busy as the first section. London’s Tussauds has quite a variety of waxworks ranging from politicians (Donald Trump and Theresa May) to sports stars (Mo Farah, Bobby Moore) to pop stars (Miley Cyrus, One Direction, Beyonce and Britney). My favourite section of course was where they had all the pop stars, including One Direction, I had to get my photo taken next to Harry!

Along with all the celebrities, Madame Tussauds London have recently unveiled the Royal Balcony section where you can have your photo taken by an official photographer with the Queen herself, plus Wills, Kate, Philip, Charles and Camilla. Harry and Meghan aren’t being revealed until the day of the Royal Wedding so we couldn’t get a photo with them, but next time they’ll be there and I’ll be striking all the royal poses.

Once we were finished at Madame Tussauds, I decided I really wanted to take my parents to Camden as my mother has never been before. Camden is around a half an hour walk from Madame Tussauds so we took a stroll through Regent’s Park and eventually ended up at our desired destination. Regent’s Park is just so beautiful and the perfect place to go for a walk and even a picnic in the sunshine! The beautiful weather made the walk even more gorgeous, and along with the beautiful flowers and trees we even saw cute little ducks and squirrels. So perfect.

Once at Camden we stopped in Wetherspoons for a drink as we were all so thirsty. It was so busy as to be expected on a sunny day but luckily we were able to find a table. Afterwards, it was time to grab some food and of course I insisted we go to Camden Noodle for my favourite Chinese street food in the whole world. Both Mum and I got food from there but my Dad opted for a slice of pizza instead.

After we ate I took my parents to Cyberdog, my favourite ever shop. It’s the coolest store I’ve ever experienced with a DJ and dancers for entertainment, plus really loud music. It’s more like a club. I’m thankful I finally got to show Mum and Dad Cyberdog as I talk about it all the time.

The rest of the day was spent exploring the shops of Camden and having drinks in the sunshine. We had a couple of drinks in the outside section of Wetherspoons by the canal then headed home at around 7pm.

I really had such a lovely day with my parents, I absolutely adored the walk through Regent’s Park, exploring Madame Tussauds London for the first time and adventuring around Camden with my lovely parents. I can’t wait for our next adventure!

  2. Ok, the first time I had ever seen a Madame Tussaud’s was when Jenny posted about it. I didn’t know they were pretty much everywhere, I saw that San Francisco has one too so if I ever go there, I totally want to check it out. It s a little crazy and almost creepy as to how the wax sculptures look to the real person but it’s something that I’d still want to see in person lol.
And your dad is so me, pizza any day anytime lol.
So glad you had fun with your parents, I miss my mother, she informed me today that she will be coming to visit for two weeks at the end of June. So excited lol

    1. Omg really? I thought it was so famous LOL. Yeah they are literally everywhere. I know there’s one in LA which I’d love to visit! I hope you get the chance to go. Yes, it is a little creepy, who even came up with this idea? But they say at the museum something like you’re not truly famous until you’re immortilised in wax or smth! So that’s my goal hahaha! Ah I need to try the Camden pizza asap, pizza is so yummy. Next time I swear! Awww yay! I’m so so excited for you! That’s so soon! Make the most of it beaut, I hope you have the best time. Thank you so much for your comment 💖💖
