A Sunny Sunday In London | ZSL London Zoo & Buckingham Palace

Hey beauties!

Just call me a London gal because once again I was in London this past weekend soaking up the sunshine in my fave city in the world. I love London! If you caught my latest blog post, you will know I spent the Sunday before last in Ldn with my family exploring Madame Tussauds & Camden, well, this Sunday I spent with my best friend at London Zoo, which I have visited only once before and already I can’t wait to visit again.

Emily and I got into London at around 11am and we walked from Camden station down to London Zoo which took us about 10 or so minutes. The weather was beautiful which made the walk all the nicer, along with the pretty London views. Once we had arrived at the zoo, our priority was to get an ice cream and I got myself a classic magnum. Delicious. We then headed straight into the reptile house with our ice creams as it’s located right by the entrance and of course I was very happy, as this reptile house is where the zoo scene from Harry Potter was filmed. So exciting!

From then on we explored the zoo and took some fun little photos. On our travels we bumped into a sweet panda and a cute little ant! Aren’t they sweet?

Enjoy this silly photo of me being a flower!

One of my favourite parts of the day was when we walked through the little butterfly enclosure and saw the absolutely stunning butterflies. Wow, they are such beautiful creatures. We are so lucky to have been blessed with butterflies, they are gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I really enjoyed seeing the beauty of them and learning some fun facts about them, for example, I learnt that the postman butterfly is called the postman butterfly because it does a daily round visiting the same sequence of flowers each day which I thought was super interesting. I love learning new things as well as seeing the pretty animals.

Along with the beautiful butterflies, we also saw Emily’s favourite animals (and one of my favourite animals) the giraffes! I love seeing the giraffes, I genuinely think they are so fascinating to watch. They’re such beautiful animals. We also saw the lemurs, penguins and even had a cheeky go on the carousel. This was the first time I’d been on carousel in years and I absolutely loved it! Emily and I both agreed that when we go to Disneyland later on in the year we are definitely going on the carousel there!

One of our last experiences at the zoo was seeing the African Wild Dogs eating their food. Oh my gosh, it was crazy to see. They are wild! I didn’t take any pictures of this, but I did buy a cute postcard of the dogs so have a picture of that!

After the zoo, Em and I headed to Camden where of course I bought my favourite Chinese food (if I had a pound for every time I mention this), then we headed straight to Buckingham Palace because what with all the Royal Wedding hype at the weekend (wasn’t it a beautiful event?) it was a must I visited the Palace. Of course I had to retake the famous Meghan Markle at 15 sitting outside Buckingham Palace photograph and now I’m just hoping all my dreams come true and I too find my Prince Charming. Cute.

Once we’d taken our photos at the Palace we decided it was time to head home, so we hopped on the train after a wonderful day in London! Until the next adventure, I’m so excited!

What’s your favourite animal to see at the zoo? Did you enjoy watching the Royal Wedding? Let me know in the comments below.

  2. I want to go to London so baddddd!!!! 😩😩😩
That’s so neat that they filmed that scene there for HP. And the ant looks cute lol.
I love the fact about the butterfly visiting the same sequence of flowers each day, that’s actually pretty freaking cool! And I learned about their vision in psychology when we were learning how the brain works lmao, I think they have at least 11 photoreceptors so they’re able to see a huge portion of the spectrum whereas we can only see a tiny bit.

I would have loved to see the lemurs lol.

What a fun day!! Can’t wait to see what else you’ve been up to I’m so behind on my reading lol
