Hey lovelies, where has the past week gone? It feels like only yesterday I was writing last weeks weekend highlights. Madness.
The past weekend was another filled with love, friendship and all of my favourite people.
On Friday evening, I went into my local Boots store for a NYX makeup masterclass. As I used to work with the NYX girls I consider them very good friends of mine, and they invited me in store to ‘model’ for them, as they used my face for a glam makeup demo. I always love when the NYX girls do my makeup, they are all such talented makeup artists and help to make me look my very best. I am for sure going in to have my makeup done by the girls this weekend before my night out because they make me look soooo good. Even though I am a qualified makeup artist myself, I still love having my makeup done by others.
NYX’s makeup masterclass was super interesting and I actually feel as though I learnt a lot. For example, if your primer base and foundation bases are different (silicone & water based for example) they may not be compatible / work well together. I found this really interesting as lately my Mum has been struggling with her base makeup and I had an inkling it was because her primer and foundation weren’t a good match. After the masterclass my suspicions were confirmed. The foundation and primer she’s using clearly aren’t compatible. I’ll have to sort her out with some new makeup for sure!
After the masterclass I went for dinner with Elaine, who works for NYX, and Charlotte, who used to work for NYX. We went for a Nandos and managed to bag a free starter thanks to Charlotte’s charms! I got Halloumi sticks and Elaine and Charlotte had free pitta. I had the nicest evening with my girlies and it felt so good to catch up with them. I am thankful that even though the three of us don’t work together anymore, we still keep in touch and spend time together. The girls friendship means so much to me, it was brilliant to spend time with them.
On Saturday, I went for a walk with my mama and finally reunited with my bestie who has been on holiday for the past two weeks. It was a lovely day.
Mum and I went for a walk in the early afternoon and we decided to explore somewhere different, although where we went actually turned out to be a different part of Ouzel Valley Park where we normally go. I didn’t realise it was quite so big. This area of OVP was somewhere neither of us had been before and I was truly in love with the beauty of the walk. It was magnificent. Walking through the lakes filled with extraordinary reeds you’d never believe we were in the middle of a city. It goes to show there are so many naturally beautiful places in this world, closer to home than one may think. On our walk we saw cows (my fave) and lots of wildlife including the cutest baby toads! The little baby toads were everywhere by the lake, we had to tread so carefully when we discovered them as obviously, we didn’t want to tread on them. But there were so many, I’ve never seen anything like it. It was truly like being in a nature wonderland.
After our walk, we went home and I got ready to go and meet my best friend for dinner. Emily only got back from her holiday on Friday so this was my first time seeing her in what felt like forever! It was so great to catch up and she made my day as she bought me back the cutest souvenirs from her trip including a shot glass, postcards and a little sugar skull. I am so happy my bestie is back in the UK, I missed her so much whilst she was away and now I am super excited to be spending more time with her. We are going to see Mamma Mia 2 this Thursday, bring it on!
On Sunday, my parents and I travelled to Wiltshire to see my brother, sister in law and nephew to celebrate his fourth birthday. Aw, my nephew is just the cutest! I love him and his smile so much, he honestly means the world to me. Spending time with my nephew is just my favourite and I’m so happy I got to see him yesterday. We had fun playing with all his toy cars (he has sooo many) and painting together. It was lovely to spend quality time with my family, and I am so excited for future visits to Wiltshire to spend more time with my loved ones.
Today I am just chilling out, I have a driving lesson later this evening but other than that there’s not a lot else going on. Just relaxing after a lovely weekend.
I have had such a gorgeous Summery weekend with my loved ones, I adored my walk with my mama, loved being reunited with my bestie, enjoyed spending time with my (ex)work girlies and had so much fun celebrating my nephews birthday with my fam. Roll on next weekend!
