July Favourites

Hello everybody. Happy August!

Pinch, punch, second day of the month. We know what this means right? It’s July favourites time.

I don’t have too many favourites for last month, it’s a short but sweet list filled with a variety of different things from TV shows, apps, and makeup. So without further ado, here are all my favourites from July.

Beauty

L’Oréal Paradise Mascara

I bought this mascara a couple of months ago now and have pretty much been using it everyday since. This mascara is perfect for all occasions, as just one coat will give your lashes a beautiful, natural, lengthened finish brightening and opening the eyes, or you can build the layers of mascara for a full volumized effect perfect for a night out. I love to wear this mascara everyday to lengthen and lift my lashes, naturally enhancing my eyes.

L’Oréal Glam Nude BB Cream Ultra Light

Uh, I just love this BB cream and it’s such a shame it’s been discontinued. You can still get it online, but it’s just not quite the same as actually going into store and purchasing the product, is it? This BB cream is perfect for that natural, no makeup, makeup look. If you just want something light coverage to give that skin a radiant, healthy glow then this is the product for you. I always receive compliments on my skin when I wear this BB cream. It’s dewy, glowing and radiant and leaves skin looking naturally flawless. All the yesses.

Max Factor Ruby Tuesday Colour Elixir Lipstick

I’m a big fan of a bold, red lip and Max Factor’s Ruby Tuesday lippie has been my go to for as long as I can remember. This is the perfect red. The texture of this lipstick is soft and creamy, and it lasts a good few hours before needing to be reapplied even after eating and drinking. I love the bold red shade of this lipstick and I find it’s best applied with the Max Factor Universal lip liner, which ensures there is no bleeding of colour and keeps the outline of the lips defined and sharp.

Other

The Vampire Diaries

TVDx

Yes. I have been binge-watching this show for weeks now and I’m absolutely obsessed. Damon and Elena? Adorable. Stefan and Caroline… can they hurry up and get together already? So cute. The Vampire Diaries has me hooked!

Mamma Mia 2 Here We Go Again

D8EF5C9C-1F86-4AFE-BA3D-AF92B4A602D7

I have been to see this film three times since it’s been out at the cinema. Yes you read that right, three times. I am in love with errrything about this film. Especially Lily James’ portrayal of a young Donna and all the amazing, beautiful, Summer fashion. Yes yes yes! Oh and of course, the soundtrack, which is so feel good and happy and makes me wanna sing and dance all day long. So who’s coming to see this with me next time? I’m ready to watch again!

Harry Potter (Films)

HPJ

Last month I started a rewatch of all the Harry Potter films and so far I am up to the Goblet of Fire, so I have another four films to go this month. YAY! I adore all things Harry Potter, who doesn’t? And whilst I watched these films I made sure to snack on my chocolate frog confectionary I bought from the Harry Potter Studios Tour. Yummy.

Duo Lingo

DuoLingo

As I have previously mentioned here on the blog, I am currently learning to speak Spanish and something I have been using to help me with this is the app DuoLingo, which is basically a language learning app. I really find this app useful and enjoyable as it has different levels to work towards on different subjects (eg family, school, work etc) and each time you complete a level you recieve a virtual crown, currently I have 31 crowns, goodness knows how many thats out of but I find each time I complete a level it excites me and gives me a great sense of achievement which is one of the reasons why I have been loving this app so much. Yay DuoLingo!

What are your favourites from the month of July? Do you watch The Vampire Diaries? Let me know in the comments below.

Thank you all for reading,

love,

Jennie

      1. I haven’t yet!! I want to though. Soon enough I will for sure. I am a couple pages into the fifth. It’s been sooooo busy the last few weeks so I haven’t had any time to read, but will hopefully have some here soon! I have only watched the 1, 2, 3 and 7th I think. So many to watch!!

  3. I use a L’Oreal BB cream too! I don’t think it’s the same, but still, it’s close haha. I got the “light” tone though but it’s still wayyy too tan for my skin. I never realized how pale I was until I tried that! It makes me look all orange? I’ll have to see if there’s like an ivory one, haha.

    1. Oh really? Thats funny because I know I think their old formula here in the uk was super orangey! So maybe thats why you need the new version… except its been discontinued 🙄 hopefully you find one more suitable for your skin tone x

  4. Oh no! That’s the worst when our fave products get discontinued! I hope you find some other BB cream you like to replace it.

Can you believe I’ve never even seen the first Mamma Mia yet?! I’d love to watch ’em both, idk why I never have! 😫 & omg I bought one of those frogs but I never opened it! I’m afraid it’s melted in there because the day I bought it I accidentally left it out in the car. I still have it though lol!

I think it’s so cute that you’re teaching yourself Spanish! ♡

    1. I know. Me too I really hope so because I love a BB cream! Thanks hun.
Oh my gosh you must watch it, especially since you enjoy going to the theatre I think you’ll like the Mamma Mia films! I hope you get to watch them soon, they are so feel good.
Omg I’ve had the frogs for so long, luckily they haven’t melted it. Oh nooo!! Have you tried putting it in the fridge? You need to open it so you can see witch Wizard card you won!! Yeah I kinda don’t want to eat the rest of mine because they’re too cute to keep as a souvenir.
Thanks so much Hunida, your comments always brighten my day. They are so thoughtful!

      1. Hmm… what exactly is the difference between BB Cream, CC Cream, & Primer? They all seem super similar.

I am definitely gonna have to watch Mamma Mia ASAP. They look so fun!!

I don’t think I am gonna be able to bring myself to open the frog because I opened the jelly beans to eat some when I first bought them & I still regret opening them every time I see them now. 😦

        ❤ ❤

      2. So BB cream is essentially like a tinted moisturiser. Cc cream is colour correction – say if you have red patches on your skin you’d use a green cc cream to cancel out the red, or if you have sun spots / age spots you would use like an apricot or light pink cc cream to cancel it out, but because these are coloured you would normally have to wear a foundation on top otherwise you’ll end up with green patches or apricot patches! Whereas with a BB you wouldn’t wear a foundation on top, it’s more natural. Primer you would wear under foundation or face makeup to act as a glue essentially to hold your makeup in place! I know they all seem very similar! I always use a primer (except if i’m wearing a BB because I find the products clash a little) but never a CC because I don’t really need to!
Please do and let me know when you watch them and what you think!
Omg I know!!! The packaging is too amazing to want to ruin isn’t it!?
Love your comment Hunida thank you so much!

      3. Oh my gosh, okay… that makes the most sense ever but, I have been totally wearing a BB Cream as a primer?! Under foundation. Is that okay?

I will def let you know what I think!! ❤ ❤

      4. Yeah I think that’s ok to wear a BB cream as a primer! A lot of them consider themselves to be a primer! Like the L’oreal one I mentioned in this post can be used as a primer! But I just find it too heavy to wear BB and foundation together personally but you’re totally fine to be doing that if it works for you! I feel like there are no rules in makeup really !
        Yay! Thank you

      5. Thats okay! If you ever want to know anything else just ask and I’ll do my best to help you! I’m a makeup addict 😍 I know! I tend to just kind of do what I like! Like some rules I’m just like whatever, i’ll do what works for me!
