Hello my loves!
January Haul time today. As many of you may know, I am a self confessed shopaholic, with the phrase ‘treat yourself’ being something that runs through my mind almost every. single. day. I love a splurge. For me, buying myself new clothes is my addiction and you’ll find most of my money is spent on fashion, if not holidays.
This month, I have bought quite a few new clothing items however I’m going to be wearing these in a couple of up and coming Lookbooks, so as not to spoil anything, I won’t be sharing with you the majority of the clothes I bought this month in this haul. What I will be sharing with you however is a lil’ bit of makeup, and along with a necklace that’s it really. This month, I haven’t really bought too much.
This month, I was in need of a new foundation. For the past month or two I have been wearing NYX’s Total Drops foundation, but this month when it ran out I decided I wanted to try something ‘new’. True Match isn’t a new foundation for me, but I haven’t worn it in years, so it’s newish I guess. I decided to go for the True Match foundation because I love L’Oréal as a company and think their products are great quality. With the budget I had to spend on foundation, I knew True Match was the perfect product to go for.
My go to eyeliner is either Kat Von D’s Tattoo liner, or NYX’s Epic Ink. We don’t have a Kat Von D counter in Milton Keynes, and NYX were out of stock of their epic. I know the style of L’Oréals Perfect Slim liner is slightly similar to both of those products, just with a longer tip, so I figured this would be the next best option for me to go for. I haven’t used it yet, as I still have a little of my NYX Epic left, but I’m sure I’ll get on with it just fine when I do.
As L’Oréal was on a 3 for 2 deal when I went shopping, I of course had to grab something else to go with my two products. How could I say no to a freebie? Although I have a loose powder, I decided it was about time I get myself a pressed, as I haven’t actually used one in so long and wanted to give it a whirl. L’Oréal’s Infallible powder was recommended to me, and although I haven’t used it yet, I’m very excited to!
Yes! This is my GO TO drugstore eye shadow primer and I could not recommend it more. You seriously notice a difference in the longevity of your eye shadow when you don’t wear this primer (as I had to deal with for a while before finally getting round to treating myself to a new). Without this primer, by the end of the day, eye shadow is creased and patchy. With the primer however, by the end of the day my eye shadow is still going strong, looking as fresh and flawless as ever. Although I do also enjoy Smashbox’s and Urban Decay’s eye shadow primer, they’re a lot more pricey than this one and essentially, they pretty much do the same job. NYX’s eye shadow primer is just as effective, and half the price, so what’s not to like, hey!?
As I went to Manchester earlier this month to celebrate my birthday / visit my friend at uni, we of course took a little trip to the Trafford Centre, which for those of you who don’t know, is a big shopping centre in Manny (obvs). Here, I actually held back a lot all things considering, and only bought ONE thing. Can you believe it!? As Emily and I were browsing in Topshop (Holly and Daisy were also in Topshop but in a different section), we discovered this super cute star necklace range and we both bought one each from the collection. I purchased ‘The Lucky Star’, which claims to give the wearer good fortune when it’s needed most, and Emily bought another from the Star range, but she can’t remember which one. Cute, huh?
Although this is technically a lingerie item, it’s no different to a bodysuit really and I wear bodysuits all the time. Although I bought this with my man in mind (LOL on that one), I actually reallllllly like the bodysuit and considering it was £45, I figured it better get some wear outside of the bedroom. Before purchasing, I texted my girls a picture of the item to ensure it was night out appropriate, which they all agreed it was, so I will be pairing this bodysuit in the future with something high waisted, like my Ted Baker skirt for example or maybe some high waisted black flares. Anything high waisted and definitely black to go with the black straps. I was going to pair it with my white flares, but then I realised the black detail would clash and we can’t have that, so it’s a no from me. I’ll probably wear this bodysuit more in the Spring / Summer time, as the colour is a little more bright and Summery. Plus, it’s still pretty cold right now, and I’m not looking to catch a chill but pairing it with a coat? Nah, not gonna work!
So that wraps up my January haul. That was fun! I can’t believe that’s actually the majority of things I purchased this month, not a lot for me… I wonder what next month will bring.
