Hello everybody and welcome to my first monthly favourites of the year! Exciting! I am very on/ off with my monthly favourites posts, some months I do them, some I don’t, however this year I really want to stick to it and make it a routine. I’m feeling optimistic about this goal and I’m excited to share with you my favourites from last month, January.
Last month, I decided I was unhappy with the foundation I was using and thought it was about time to get rid and try a new. Back when I was a teenager / young(er) adult (C’mon I’m only 24), I used to use L’Oréal’s True Match foundation, and despite obviously forgetting about it over the years after branching out and trying different brands, I decided it was time to give it another whirl. L’Oréal is up there in my top 5 for cosmetic brands and I adore their products, being super high quality yet affordable, what’s not to love? L’Oréals True Match is a gorgeous, smooth foundation, which gives the perfect coverage. Natural, not too heavy or cakey but enough to hide those pesky blemishes and give skin a natural radiant finish. I was colour matched with the shade Golden Almond but with over 30 shades to choose from, there really is a shade for everyone in L’Oréal’s True Match range.
I was given a mini sample size bottle of NARS new Climax mascara late last year and I have been loving it ever since. I do love a NARS product, however I’d never tried any of their eye products before but this mascara does not dissapoint. Firstly, one of the main selling points for me with this mascara is how it hasn’t dried out yet, considering a lot of mascaras I’ve bought before have literally gone dry within no more than a month / 6 weeks of purchasing. I’ve had this little sample over two months now, and the quality / formula is still absolutely perfect and useable. But onto the actual mascara and finish itself, I love what this product does. It lengthens the lashes beautifully, creating that perfect length whilst also seperating so there are no clumps and lashes simply look beautifully defined, opening and brightening up the eyes. There is absolutely nothing I could fault about this mascara, it’s perfect for length and definition, and is my go to both day and night. I will definitely be purchasing a full size version of the product when my mini runs out!
Ooh who doesn’t like the delicious scent of strawberries? If there’s one thing I love, it’s silky smooth, soft skin, and The Body Shop’s moisturiser is the ultimate product for achieving that. It’s so creamy and soft, but the main reason I’ve been loving this product so much is the scent. It’s so yummy, and strong too, so I can smell it on my skin even hours after I’ve applied it. Unfortunately I’m on the last legs of this product, so I will be having to purchase a new one as soon as payday rolls around, it’s my fave!
I blame Hunida for this one. Ever since she started mentioning playing The Sims in her journal entries, I’ve been eager to play myself. So of course I had to buy it asap, which caused me a right palava as Amazon messed up my product code and I spent hours online talking to an Origins game centre assistant, trying to figure it all out. Whatever, it’s fine now and since purchasing (and actually being able to use my edition of The Sims 4) I have been hooked. I only bought it a couple of weeks ago and I’ve already played 41 hours worth of the game, we’re coming up close to two whole days of my life being spent on The Sims. That’s so funny. I currently only have one ‘expansion’ pack which is the toddler pack, but I will definitely be purchasing more in the future. I’d really love, well, all of them to be honest, they all look so good!
I heard this song when skipping through the music channels, and I’m loving it! I am a fan of Post Malone, so any song he puts out I enjoy, but I really love the feeling this song gives me. Maybe it’s because I love Sunflowers, but this song has been on repeat for me lately.
St Ann’s Hill
If you caught my JENuary celebrations blog post, you will know that last month I visited one of my all time favourite places, St Ann’s Hill which is the most beautiful little woodland area that I love so much. I’m not going to ramble on too much about how much I love St Ann’s Hill, because I intend to write a blog post alll about it sometime ASAP, so I wouldn’t want to repeat myself, however I just had to include this beautiful place in my January favourites, as it certainly deserves a spot there and I’m so thankful I got to visit last month!
Oh I just love a Colin. They are from Marks and Spencers, are vegetarian and oh so simply delicious. I’ve always been a fan of a Colin, but last month the obsession reached new heights. I’ve been eating them more and more and can’t get enough. They’re essentially just gummy sweets in the form of a caterpillar, but you know, they’re so much more than just a gummy sweet. They taste different to your typical Haribo or whatever, in a good way and I just can’t get enough. YUM!
I recently discovered instagrammer / blogger HelloMissJordan and I’ve quickly become a huge fan of both her blog and instagram. The photos she posts are all so beautiful and wonderfully edited, and I love how she shares before and after photos on her instagram stories giving us an insight into how she edits her photos. It’s so interesting, and keeps it real too. Jordan is a super fun, bright person to follow, she spreads positivity and simply ‘delight’ and her pictures are a joy to view. Her blog posts are also great too, fun to read, interesting and well written, she’s definitely one of my favourites at the moment.
