Hello my honeys and welcome back to my blog… and happy December. Christmas season is here and it’s time for all the good times, happy quality time with loved ones, adventures, festive activities and of course ‘The Christmas Tag’, questions to which I found on Natalie’s blog here. Be sure to check out her questions and answers to ‘The Christmas Tag’ if you so desire and for now, let’s jump straight into my answers.
The Christmas Tag | 2019
What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
The Holiday, easily! I love that feel good festive romance and anything with Cameron Diaz is always a win from me. Home Alone 1 and 2 are also absolute classics, although Kevin absolutely breaks my heart as I feel SO sorry for him getting abandoned by his family time and time again. Like, how could you forget your own kid? Although he does end up having the craziest adventures so, I’m sure he’s not too bothered. I actually watched ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ yesterday for the first time and I have to say, that’s easily gone straight onto my list as a firm favourite. What a fantastic, important film all about the miracle that is life. It really inspires more love in me also, as I want the people in my life to know how cherished they are, and how much my life is better with them in it.
Have you ever had a white Christmas?
YES! Back when I was a kid, we had snow on Christmas day which I actually don’t remember as such, I just know we had a ‘White Christmas’ because of photographic evidence. How cute!
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
It varies every year but no matter where I spend Christmas, it will always be with my Mum and Dad. They are my absolute world, and they’re always going to be my priority on Christmas day… I hope future hubby can accept that, hehe!
What is your favourite Christmas song?
My favourite Christmas song is without a doubt ‘Fairytale of New York’, by The Pogues, it’s a bit of a random one but you all know how much I love New York so it only makes sense, there’s just something about it that I love.
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Back in the day my parents used to gift myself and my siblings one gift each on Christmas Eve, to keep us occupied whilst they stayed up to wrap our presents. It would usually be a book or a DVD of some sort, all I know is that I truly have the best, most thoughtful parents who really do so much for me… Now that I’m older, the only time I open presents on Christmas Eve is if I’m seeing people that evening that I won’t be seeing on Christmas Day, for example family members who have other plans, or friends!
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
No. Rudolph, Dasher, Dancer, Blitzen. That’s it. I can’t remember the rest unless I google them…
What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
I’m looking forward to going to Winter Wonderland for my Soul Sisters birthday, travelling to Edinburgh with my best friends, and spending quality festive time with my family watching Christmas films, seeing the Christmas lights and more. So long as I’m with my loved ones, I’m happy!
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
My family and I always have a real tree and when I have my own place this is a tradition I will continue to uphold however I also would love to get a fake tree to go with it, because I’m totally in love with pretty white trees with silver sparkles and gorgeous pastel pink baubles. Yes please!
What is your favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
This year will be my first ‘Vegan’ Christmas, as I’ve recently made the decision to commit to a vegan lifestyle as much as possible. Therefore, this year will be quite different for me as there’ll be no Celebration chocolates, Llindt bunnies or my other usual Christmas goodies. So things are changing up a lot this year, so I’mma have to get back to you for this question.
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
Definitely giving!!! I love buying people presents and treating the people I love in abundance, it is just the most amazing feeling being able to shower your favourites with all the gifts and joy. My favourite type of gifts to treat my loved ones to are experiences, so theatre tickets, activity tickets etc, but I love buying other bits and bobs I know they’ll love too. I just love buying people presents so much!!! But of course… I do love receiving too, hehe 😉
What is the best Christmas present you ever received?
Ooh good question! I have been so fortunate over the years to have received so many amazing gifts, each and every year. The year before last, my parents bought me tickets to see ‘The Lion King’ at the West End, and last year they bought me theatre vouchers which I ended up using to take myself and my Mama to see ‘The Girl On The Train’. Quality time is my favourite gift, and ultimately that’s all that matters to me, so all I hope for this year is the gift of happy, blissful times with my loved ones. That’s my Christmas wish!
What is your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
NEW YORK!! I’m hoping to visit during the festive season in 2021 and 2022 which will be amazing. Christmas will be so magical in NYC, and think of all the amazing gifts I’ll be able to buy too. I’m ready!!!
Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
Neither. I’m not an expert wrapper though my skills have improved greatly this year thanks to my job, so I wouldn’t say I fail miserably at wrapping either. I like to think I do my best with wrapping, but I definitely could improve by adding some cute ribbons and bows here and there too. We’ll see how I get on this year!
Most memorable Christmas memory?
Every Christmas is special to me, and I have a lot of wonderful festive memories. I am so grateful to be a part of such a loving family, and forever grateful to my parents for making every Christmas so special for myself and my siblings. I am very much looking forward to this Christmas / festive period, as I know it’s going to be the most special of my life so far. Thank you Universe!
What made you realise the truth about Santa?
I think it was just one of those things, you grow up, your friends are talking, it’s something that naturally just happens. There was no defining moment, one day I just knew.
What makes the holidays special for you?
Family time, and spending time with friends. Just being with the people I love is what Christmas is about for me, and that’s all I wanna do. Make beautiful memories with my loved ones. Thank you Universe.
I am so looking forward to all the wonderful Christmas activities I have planned this year, along with all the wonderful festive surprises I’ll manifest also.
