Hello my beautiful darlings and welcome back to my blog, how is everybody today?
In today’s post, I have been inspired by the wonderful Chloe to create a post recapping my top 10 posts of the year, in Chloe’s post she shared her personal highlights but for me, I wanted to break it down into two categories: one category for my most viewed posts of 2019, and one category for my personal favourites which I have shared. Now, it’s funny because more than half of my most viewed posts from this year weren’t actually published in this year, in fact, my most viewed post of this year was actually published way back in 2017 which is wild, and you’ll find out what that post is soon… As for choosing my personal favourites that I have written and published this year in 2019, I wish I could literally share 90% of them because narrowing it down to ten… very tricky. I feel like I have been on such a journey and learnt so many lessons this year and I have shared so much of this here on my blog, I’ve shared so many posts which I hope will help and inspire people, not to mention so much poetry and some of my favourite ever OOTD’s, I’m pretty happy with the content I’ve put out this year. I’m hoping next year will bring more of the same in terms of quality content which I am proud of, however as much as I love to learn, grow and transcend, I’m hoping 2020 is a little easier on me when it comes to the lessons and is just filled with so much love, laughter, fun, joy, bliss, excitement, adventures, love, good times and giggles… I trust the Universe and for now, let’s get into recapping my top posts of 2019, starting with the category ‘most viewed’, enjoy!
Most Viewed Posts 2019
A post which I shared back in 2018, here you’ll find my favourite extracts from the phenomenal book ‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho. This book is one of my all time favourites and I highly recommend, I’ve read this book around 3 times now and I’ve no doubt I’ll be reading it more and more in the future. It’s wonderful. Being that it’s such a phenomenal book, I couldn’t even put into words a review for it, therefore I just decided to share my favourite extracts in this post so hopefully people reading could gain something from them, just as I have done.
I uploaded this review way back in 2016, and three years later it’s still attracting so many views. In 2017 this was my most viewed post of the year, and in 2018 it was number 5 on the list. I wonder where it will rank in 2020? Anyway, this post is obviously just me reviewing the ‘Screen Queen’ lipstick from Smashbox, which was one of my faves back in the day. It’s a gorgeous deep burgundy shade, a colour which I love to rock on my lips, and the names pretty fun too!
I shared this post back in 2018 when I was documenting my experience with Rhonda Byrne’s book ‘The Magic’. This is a 30 days of gratitude ‘challenge’ designed to enhance your life magically and beautifully. As per usual, I gave up on around day 5 or 6, not because I don’t love ‘The Magic’, I really do want to complete this challenge, it’s just so time consuming. Bare in mind my morning routine can take me at least an hour in the first place without throwing these ‘challenges’ in, it really is like having a full time job haha. However, I believe the opportunity may come next month for me to have time to do this practice, so I think I’m just gonna give it a whirl then. Exciting!
A post that not only did I upload this year, but this month too, therefore I’m pretty happy it’s made my top 10 most viewed list, it must have been a good one to jump so many views so quickly hey? This outfit of the day is one of my favourites which I have created, inspired by the beautiful Cordelia and of course Perrie Edwards in Little Mix’ ‘Woman Like Me’ music video. I had so much fun putting this look together, and I’m so excited to create more looks in 2020. Bring it on.
This year I went to an amazing ‘Soul Alignment’ session, which was so fulfilling and euphoric that straight afterwards I wrote the post ‘Excited and Alive’ just to document my feelings. The post was completely random being that it was literally just a flow of words coming out as I expressed my feelings, so a couple of days later I decided to write a new post delving a bit deeper into the experience called ”Behind’ Excited and Alive, An Experience With A Soul Alignment Session’. This post beautifully received so much love, and I’m hoping to document more soul alignment sessions in 2020, as they really are such fulfilling experiences which I think we could all gain from, even if it’s just through reading about them here on the blog.
I shared this post in 2017, and it’s so random that it’s still getting so many views, especially considering Pretty Little Liars is all finished now and not so mainstream?! It’s always been a popular show though, and it’s still on Netflix, so I guess people are still wanting their fix, hehe.
EEK! One of my favourite posts I shared this year, and one I am very proud of. As soon as I saw Ariana Grande’s music video for ‘7 Rings’ I instantly felt excited to create a look book inspired by this video. I was so happy with the looks I created, and I absolutely love this look book! I’m glad it’s made my most viewed!
#3 | The Netflix Tag
I guess we all love a tag right, hehe? I shared ‘The Netflix Tag’ post back in 2017, and re-answered the questions again this year inspired by the popularity of my first post (also because it’s fun to reflect and see how my answers have changed). I guess this post probably gets so many views because people are looking for the questions to answer themselves, and also, I guess people just really love Netflix, so that could be why too, hehe.
I shared this post last year in November 2018 and it makes me very happy that to this day it’s still getting so many views, as I like to hope it’s a post that comforts and helps anyone who may be reading it. The quote ‘what is meant for me will never miss me, and what misses me was never meant for me’ (from Al Shafi’i) is one of my favourites ever and one I find to be so soothing, so of course I had to write a whole blog post delving deeper into the quote. I’m sure this one will be just as successful next year, and I really hope it brings everyone who reads it plenty of comfort, reassurance and joy.
This post was uploaded back in 2017 and it’s still getting so many views! Not only is it my most viewed post of 2019, but it was my most viewed post of 2018 too, yet funnily enough not my most viewed of 2017. As the title suggests, in this post I shared my favourite Max Factor products along with mini reviews. Though I don’t really use the brand so much anymore due to personal reasons, it’s great that people are still benefiting from this post, as it’s getting lots of views through search terms, so people must be interested in learning about the brand and their products. Exciting!
My Personal Favourites *In no particular order, all from 2019
I shared this post a short while after I wrote it, as I was waiting for what felt like the right time. I knew the perfect time would come for me to share this and it did, and ever since it’s a post which has received so much love and support, with work colleagues offering their love and of course, my wonderful blogging friends supporting it so much too. I wrote this post after being inspired by a photo I had taken, after a tough couple of months working through mental health situations etc etc, I was finally feeling so much happier again and it was euphoric to know I had gotten through. I wanted to share this post as I knew it would benefit someone, somewhere out there reading knowing that no matter what, if you’re going through anything, whatever it may be, you will get through it and happier times do exist. Everything happens for us, and if you’re going through a tough time right now, I promise it does get better, and it’s only going to make you stronger, happier and healthier. Better times are coming.
This was the first look book in my Chakra series, which I actually have not followed up at all since my Sacral Chakra look book. I did go out to take photos for my Solar Plexus looks however, things didn’t go exactly to plan and the look book has not come together yet. I am sure it will happen if and when it is meant to but regardless, we still have the Root Chakra look book which I am so proud of. A lot of thought went into this, and I tried to make this post as informative and beneficial as possible, and now speaking about it, I am definitely very very excited to continue on with this series. We love a Chakra (well, I know I do, haha).
Ooh, another post I am so proud of… mainly because I just love the photos I took for it hehe. Also, this was a great post to write because it meant I got to eat lots of yummy cupcakes and brownies, it’s a total win right? I absolutely love Mrs Mac’s Sweet Treats, and I am so excited to have some more of their cupcakes and brownies in the new year, as you can probably tell from my reviews, I think they are soooo yummy!
One of my favourite posts of the year, I’ve already spoken about this one as it also made my most viewed list of the year so… I won’t ramble on about it any longer, heard enough, hehe.
I LOVE a post discussing relationships, and here I’ve put these two posts together as I love them both a lot. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before #1 is a post all about my first relationship, an open letter to my ex as such, and #2 is a ‘letter’ to another of the boys I’ve ‘loved’ before… I even called his name out in that one, the scandal hehe. I love these posts because they’re both reflective and enjoyable to read at the same time, and writing them was just so much fun. I can’t wait to write #3…
As I said this year has been all about lessons and growth, and ‘love is acceptance’ is something I wrote randomly after seeing a quote which resonated with me and I realised a lot about love. That it’s acceptance, it’s allowing the people you love to be, giving them the freedom to be who they are, understanding them, and most importantly accepting them and loving them unconditionally. Love is acceptance, after all.
This is a reflective post all about the lessons I learnt from my first relationship and it’s one I’m really happy with. I just love the way it’s written.
I wrote this post way before I uploaded it, and then before I shared it, I rewrote it pretty much all over again. This post is so important to me, and one I like to share every now and then across my social media because I think it’s such an important reminder, to remember that the thoughts that cross our minds are just those, thoughts. We mustn’t give so much power to them, unless they’re thoughts we enjoy of course, like thoughts of Yorkshire puddings and mash potato and holidays to Tuscany however, if the thoughts are making you miserable, let them go like passing strangers. They’re just little ships, passing in the night, they don’t have to mean anything!
I love this post so much! This was an unplanned post which means so much to me, I think honouring our inner child is so so important. My thoughts are summed up in the post itself, but again, this post I find to be another great reminder and I like to revisit this post and share it often also, because I do think it’s so important.
Self love is everything, and this year has been all about falling in love with me, and you can 100% guarantee I’ll be carrying that self love energy all the way into 2020, and the rest of my life, more and more each day. Self love is one of the most important things you can have in my opinion, and it’s absolutely key. With self love, the magic is infinite. So love yourself beautiful because YOU deserve it. I love you!
I have had such a positive year in 2019 with my blog, and I am so so excited for all that 2020 is going to bring me and the content I’m going to be sharing, I hope for lots of adventures, fun, and wonderful reflections.
So cheers to 2019 and here’s to 2020. I love you Universe bring us alllllllll the best one please!!!
