Twin Flame | A Short Story

‘Joel?’ I feel a release of tension I hadn’t even known I’d been holding on to evaporate from my body. 10 years worth of knots even the best of massage therapists haven’t been able to unravel, and believe me when I say I’ve tried a fair few. Everything makes sense now. My soul has found peace.

‘Hello Twin Flame’, Joel reaches out and cups my cheek with his hand, softly stroking his thumb across my skin. Thank God I moisturised this morning. A smile breaks out on my face and a tear breaks free. Yet more release. 10 years worth of something I didn’t even realise I was holding in.

It all makes sense now.

‘Twin?’, I look hopefully into Joel’s eyes as in return I gently take his face in my hand, his textured stubble taking me back to nights long ago, memories so old, yet still so present in my heart. The pull is as strong as ever as his eyes melt in mine. A blur, a moment in time, that I have known for many lives.

‘Yes Twin’ Joel pulls me close and pecks me on the forehead. A tender moment that feels like home. I feel the puzzle pieces slot into place, my heart once more relaxed, in the presence of my Twin Flame, I am exactly where I’m supposed to be. This is all the confirmation I could need.

‘I always had an inkling you were my Twin Flame, a feeling, but I convinced myself it was just false hope, praying there could be more to our story than just an ending’, I tell Joel honestly, ‘but you saying that, you knowing this too… I had no indication you’d ever even believed in such thing, my instincts were right all along’. Joel lightly scolds me, ‘What did I always used to tell you, my love, trust yourself. Magic runs through you, you’re made of stardust… as am I’ he smirks.

‘Two souls made of Stardust, we’ll always have this connection’, more tears run freely down my cheeks as I remember, a little less painfully now, that this timeline isn’t for us. In an alternate reality, I’m sure But not this one’, we say in unison, as we wipe each others tears away, a soft smile dancing on both our faces.

We know it’s okay. Twin Flames always find their way. Here and now or in another life, we will always have each other, we might just have to wait a little longer.

We part ways, no goodbye because there are no goodbye’s for us, it’s just until next time.

I’ll see you in the next life, my lover.

This short story was inspired by the Twin Flame Union, my own experiences and the writings of Leeor Alexandra.
