Vegas, Baby! | Part 4 | Welcome To Las Vegas Sign, The Neon Museum, Steve Aoki & More

Hey boo’s!

So on our fifth full day in Las Vegas, Emily and I again had another busy day. Well, when in Vegas, there’s sooo much to do!

We started off our day with breakfast at a little place called ‘Off The Strip’ near where we had done our zip line earlier on in the week. Originally we had wanted to eat at Margaritaville but it was so busy, and we were hungry & ready to eat, so we went somewhere without a queue. At first I wasn’t really feeling the vibe in ‘Off The Strip’ but once we’d settled in and our food came out, I really enjoyed it! I can’t remember what I ate exactly and I didn’t take any photos, but I remember thinking I’d definitely go there for breakfast again.

Afterwards, I grabbed a chocolate ice cream which was SO good, but so massive I couldn’t finish it which is a rarity for me. I got close to finishing it, but I had to admit defeat eventually. It was a 10/10 though, so good.

As I ate my ice cream, we headed to the bus stop as we had plans to go to the famous Las Vegas sign to get our photos! We decided to take the bus here for ease and quickness, though I believe according to google, you can walk.

We had to queue for a little while before it was our turn to get our photos, and there was a photographer at the sign who offers to take photos for free, but naturally, we gave him a tip which of course I’m sure is what he’s working for!

We took some more photos around the same location, as right next to the Las Vegas sign is the airport, which I thought would make for some cool photos. I’m happy with how they turned out!

Once we’d got our photos here, we then headed on over to Fremont Street, where we got an Uber to the Neon Museum.

The Neon Museum is a fun, unique museum filled with old signs from ‘old casinos and other businesses’ as described on Wikipedia.

It’s a cool and original place to visit and definitely somewhere to go if you want to shoot some cool photos!

My favourite signs had to be from the Hard Rock Cafe (obvs), the Stardust sign & the Tropicana Mobil Park sign. So fun and very very colourful. Love!

I didn’t get any good photos with the Hard Rock sign, but I did get some funny ones… I think I was annoyed that there were so many people walking past in the background, enjoy LOL.

We spent around a couple of hours here, before heading back to Fremont Street and then back to the hotel, where we got ready for our night out.

That evening, we had purchased tickets for a bar crawl which included entrance to Steve Aoki’s DJ set at Hakkasan nightclub, located in the MGM Grand hotel.

Before heading to the bar crawl, we decided to go for dinner at our fave, the Hard Rock Cafe, yum!

Here, I ordered my usual meal of Mac & Cheese with a side of mashed potato. The waiter was so nice as he gave me my side of mash for free, being that I’d ordered the Mac & Cheese without the meat! How kind is that? Normally, I still have to pay full whack!

We also ordered a cocktail each, followed by a larger one to share. YUM!

Once we’d eaten and finished our yummy cocktails, we then headed on over to the bar crawl.

We’d purchased tickets with ‘World Crawl Las Vegas’ which meant we got free drinks at the first couple of bars (I can’t remember which bars these were), but honestly, being that it was so packed, we didn’t really get that many drinks. We were also told there’d be drinking games & karaoke on this bar crawl, well, I’mma be honest, the only drinking game we were alerted of was a rule game of having to hold our drinks in our left hand, and if we were caught with them in our right, we had to down the drink.

I didn’t notice anybody participating in this. Not quite the Ring Of Fire I’m a fan of…

and as for karaoke, well, I didn’t notice it anywhere.

After the first couple of bars, we all headed over to Hakkasan ready for Steve Aoki’s performance. Emily and I got a few more drinks, we had to pay for them here and were astonished when we had to pay TWELVE dollars for a bottle of water, the barman even tried to shortchange me for a dollar which I simply was not having, twelve dollars for water is theft enough. Haha! Anyway, we had a dance, which was fun, and it felt super cool to be partying in Las Vegas I have to admit, but we were curious to know when Steve would be performing as he is who we’d came for after all.

We’ve seen Steve Aoki a few times now, and he’s been brilliant everytime, this time however, well, we didn’t even see him LOL.

Steve was due to come on I believe around 1 or 2am, and as we went to the stage area where he’d be performing we realised we wouldn’t actually even be able to see him. The majority of the room where Steve was performing was blocked off for VIP ticket holders, meaning anyone who hadn’t paid for VIP would be getting a bopping view of 432682 heads and a few bottles of Grey Goose.

Not ideal.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a bit of VIP, but this was just ridiculous. VIP should be a better view, and a comfier, more glam view for sure, but it shouldn’t be the only view?

We’d been stood waiting for Steve for about half an hour when we decided it wasn’t worth it, Steve hadn’t even come on yet but we were not feeling the vibes at all, we were stood right behind a VIP booth and when I tell you I’ve never felt more like a peasant in my life… Wow.

Honestly guys, I suggest if you’re going to see someone perform in a club in Vegas, pay extra for the VIP area or just don’t bother.

It was probably fine for all the people who were too drunk to notice or care, but Emily and I had specifically gone to see Steve.

We know for next time…

Despite not seeing Steve perform, I still had a fab and funny night with my best friend. As long as we’re together, I don’t care who we do or don’t see!

We still made memories to cherish, and I can’t wait for more.

We headed back to the hotel after deciding to leave Hakkasan, and got some rest in ready for another fun filled day to follow.

Stay tuned for Vegas part 5!

Ah love these recaps and living vicariously through you! Your pics are amazing sweets! I had also heard that about Las Vegas, that you have to pay through the nose if you want access to anything. I had friends who had paid to bypass lines into clubs, but STILL had to wait. That was a bummer you didn’t get to see him, but I love your attitude of the whole thing! You truly are a light sweets! ❤

Thank you so much beautiful! Your comments ALWAYS make my day!! Seriously!! We had the exact same thing we paid like 100 dollars for that whole club night but still had to pay for drinks in the main club! Also its sexist because boys have to pay an extra 30 dollars for the free drink options in the first couple of bars! How wrong is that??! Thanks so much angel, you always bring the light and inspire me to be the best me! You’re the best ❤️❤️❤️

Ahhhh this is such a fun post!! I love seeing Las Vegas through your eyes- I have actually never been, so this is a blast for me to live vicariously through you! Also your makeup/outfit/hair— all so on point, gorgeous as always!!! $12 for water?! Okay, what! That really is theft! Sorry the concert didn’t go so smoothly, but still so happy to hear it was all over a memorable night! Thanks for sharing, love 🙂

Aha isn’t it! It’s not a holiday without an ice cream at breakfast time! I wish I had it now it was so good!!
I agree!! So generous!!
Yes thats such a good way of putting it! It had such a cool vibe there, so interesting to see!
I know 12 dollars was extortianate for a bottle of water, the nerve honestly 😂 yeah I would say the whole club experience was quite a scam! I’d just do my own thing next time, and pay entry for any clubs we want to go to etc!! I read reviews on their fb page- they were not good 😭
Oh wow! Any reason? Do you want to go to a concert or are they not your thing? Thanks for commenting angel ❤️❤️❤️❤️
