I love books, I love books, I love books and reading.
HELLO!
How is everyone today?
If you didn’t already know… I love books.
Reading is one of my favourite hobbies and has been my whole life, and over the past few weeks I’ve been shopping and treating myself to lots and lots of books, you can never have too many right?
I adore reading, and having lots of great books in my collection is so important to me. I was getting to a point where I felt I was running out of reading material and I really needed to stock up (even though I still had at least over 10 books on my tbr pile), I just felt like I needed more to look forward to reading, books to suit my mood and vibe. I was feeling uninspired by the books I had on my tbr, even though the majority of them are all books I definitely want to read at some point, I needed more to feel excited about. Hence the massive haul.
I’ve treated myself to so many exciting books to look forward to reading, and I wanted to share those with you here today in a book haul.
Being that I started this haul a good few weeks ago I’ve actually already read a couple of the books, so without further ado (or is it further adieu Mack ;)), here’s a look at the books I’ve treated myself to over these past few weeks.
The Path To The Sea – Liz Fenwick
I picked this one up randomly when browsing the books in Tesco, and thought it looked very much my type of book. Being set along the Cornish coast, this book sounds like it’s going to be very atmospheric and totally my vibes. I’m really looking forward to reading this one!
My One True North – Milly Johnson
I decided to purchase this book after reading some of the ‘praise for Milly Johnson’ on the back of the book, hehe. This is a new book from Milly and I can’t say if I’ve ever read a book by her or not, but I’m really looking forward to this one because the blurb is enticing, and the praise and reviews for Milly’s work are so positive.
Unexpected Lessons In Love – Lucy Dillon
I thought I’d read books by Lucy Dillon before because the style of this book looks familiar, but none of the titles ring a bell to me. Anyway, I thought this book sounded good and you know I love a romance, so why not pick this one up hey!?
Our Stop – Laura Jane Williams
I saw this book recommended on ‘TheBrightonGirl’ Instagram and I thought it sounded like such a cute, feel good read, definitely something I’d really enjoy. I’m really looking forward to this one!
I Heart Forever – Lindsey Kelk
I’ve already read this one, I’m such a fan of the I Heart Series and I read this in just a few days, you can read more of my thoughts on this book here.
I Heart Hawaii – Lindsey Kelk
After I finished reading I Heart Forever, I knew I had to get the follow up in the series asap, so when pay day hit, I ordered, YAY! I Heart Hawaii is the LAST BOOK in the series which is so sad, I do not want it to end because I’m going to miss Angela and her adventures so much, not to mention all the other wonderful characters who bring my little heart joy like Angela’s best friend Jenny, and just the feel good vibes and the friendships in this series, I am going to miss them!!!! The I Heart series is just such a joyful set of books, and whilst this is the last in the series there are a couple of other ‘spin off / short story’ books such as ‘Jenny Lopez Has A Bad Week’, which I think are possibly only available online (I’m not sure though), so I’ll definitely be checking these out at some point and of course, purchasing more from Lindsey Kelk. Anyway, I’m looking forward to reading this book, it’s definitely one I’m going to be picking up very soon.
Only You – Kate Eberlen
I’ve read and reviewed a book by Kate Eberlen before, ‘Miss You’, which you can read here, I remember it being a brilliant read so when I saw another book by Kate in Tesco (lol I love the Tesco hype on my blog lately), I thought it’d be a great one to purchase. Based on my previous experience with her work I’m really excited to read ‘Only You’.
The Two Lives Of Lydia Bird – Josie Silver
This book sounds amazing. A completely random purchase since I haven’t heard of the author or this book, Josie Silver, before, however when I read the blurb I really thought it would be a good one to pick up. This book is going to be powerful and emotional, there’s love, loss, and hope by the sounds of it, laughter too, so I’m really looking forward to delving deep into this story and experiencing a new author and tale. Bring it on, I’m so glad I picked this book up.
Nine Perfect Strangers – Liane Moriarty
I bought this a few weeks ago and I’ve already finished it, naturally I’ll be reviewing this in my ‘What I’ve Read May’ blog post coming at the end of the month so I won’t comment on it too much here. It was a good book but quite slow paced. It’s not the best book I’ve ever read, but it’s still left me intrigued enough to try another book from Liane Moriarty in the future.
The Starless Sea – Erin Morgenstern
I read ‘The Night Circus’ by Erin Morgenstern for the second time last month and thought it was a phenomenal, magical read. I decided to have a look to see if Erin had any other books out because I knew I wanted to read more from her and to my pleasant surprise I discovered she had recently released her second novel ‘The Starless Sea’. Perfect timing, right? I am SO excited to read this book, Erin is a magical author, and I am so excited to explore this new world she has created and to enjoy another enchanting book from her.
The Little Book Of Mindfulness – Dr Patrizia Collard
I can’t not include at least one Spiritual / self help style book in my haul can I? Now I have so many Spiritual / self help books on my tbr pile atm, but I still wanted to purchase one more to add to the collection. My favourite YouTuber Leeor has a book recommendations list online, so each month, or every other month / whenever I feel like it, I want to purchase a book or two (or however many I fancy) from this list. This time I decided to go for ‘The Little Book Of Mindfulness’ which features little daily practices to boost mindfulness. I love a practice, so I’m really excited to read this book and do a practice each day. I aim to read a little of a Spiritual book per day, preferably in the morning, at the moment I’m reading ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill which isn’t my fave, therefore I haven’t been reading it everyday, but once I’ve finished it, then ‘The Little Book Of Mindfulness’ will be one of the next on my list for my morning read, and I am super super excited.
Side note: So I may have done a supermarket trip right after writing the first draft of this book haul (I write my posts in advance- most of the time hehe), anyway, guess who couldn’t resist picking up another book? You’re right, me! I decided to buy ‘The Hypnotist’s Love Story’ by Liane Moriarty which is one I almost picked up when I bought a few of the other books in this haul before, but in the end I decided not to go for it. After reading ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ and already being intrigued by this book previously, I decided now was the perfect time to buy. Another book I have to look forward to reading, lucky lucky me.
Have you read any of the books mentioned in this haul?
Which books should I add to my ‘to buy’ / ‘tbr’ next?
What are you currently reading?
Be sure to let me know all your thoughts in the comments below,
as always thank you so much for reading,
with lots of love and light,
Jennie

Aw wow, that’s amazing that you are on the very last book of the ‘I Heart’ series. I don’t think I’ve ever read an entire series before! I hope you’ll enjoy the short stories as much as the actual novels. 🙂 I follow quite a few book bloggers who rave about Liane Moriarty but, I’ve also read another few who say her books are a bit slow going, too. I’ll have to check one of her books out someday & see what I think for myself! Can’t wait until I get to your May book reviews post. 😀
