Black Lives Matter

Hey my loves, how we doing?

Today, I can’t not write about what’s going on in the world. I simply can’t. I have another blog post I was going to write, but it just didn’t feel okay to sit here and write that when there is something else that really needs to be said, and I can’t be silent.

I know hundreds and thousands of people are using their voice in speaking about what’s happening in the world right now. What happened to George Floyd. I can’t not acknowledge this here.

It’s horrendous, it’s awful, it’s unjust.

BLACK LIVES MATTER.

And it’s so important to say this – BLACK LIVES MATTER.

Saying ‘All Lives Matter’ doesn’t work, because yes, all lives matter, and it would be amazing if we lived in a world where we could say in good faith, all lives matter. Because the truth is they do, to me, all lives matter, and we should all be equal. But the reality is, we can’t say ‘All Lives Matter’ until the world changes for the better, so that there is no racial injustice. There are no hate crimes, there is no suffering for people purely because of the colour of their skin.

Until then we have to focus on this –

BLACK LIVES MATTER.

Innocent people have to suffer everyday at the hands of racism, and that isn’t okay.
I know I am white, and I can’t understand what people go through because of the colour of their skin. I know I have this privilege. But that doesn’t mean I won’t stand with YOU, no matter who you are. Innocent people who deserve to live a life of freedom. ‘No one is free until we are all free’ – Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

Why are we living in a world where racism exists? Still, to this day? It should NEVER have been a thing, but sadly, it is, and now we have to change this.

Change today. By talking.

Making a difference.

Talk to your friends and family. CALL PEOPLE out when they are racist. Do not be afraid to use your voice for the better good of the world, be more afraid of not speaking out. Because there is no time to not speak out, no good reason to not stand up for this cause and say this world will not tolerate racism. Do not be silent. Our voice is needed.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a passing comment, if its racist, it’s racist. End of. Address it, stand up, speak out. Do not tolerate any form of racism because there are people who need us, we need to make a change and we can be the change.

Start today.

Educate yourself.

Read, learn.

I am going to personally invest in some books such as ‘Me and White Supremacy’ by Layla F Saad & ‘So You Want To Talk About Race’ by Ijeoma Oluo.

This is a list of books you may want to purchase recommended by the writer Kim-Julie Hansen (Follow on Instagram here)

DONATE.

Continuously educate yourself and make this a way of life. Don’t just consider this today, this week or this month because it’s in the news.

Go forward every day for the rest of your life and be ANTI RACIST, and make a difference.

We can change the world, together, we can unite and make a difference.

Every single day.

❤️

thanks beaut & 100%%%%%%!!!! We all have to use our voice, and make a change. We can’t just sit back and wait for things to change, we have to be and inspire the change so that this world can be a safe and happy place for everyone. ❤
